Allegheny Defense Project ...working for the protection of the natural heritage of the Alleghenies...

13th Annual

September 15-17, 2006

• Campout in Allegheny National Forest

• Work to Defend the Forest!

• Hike Allegheny Wilderness!

• Lessons in Fly Fishing, Geocaching, and Caving.

• Learn about Logging, Oil & Gas Drilling.

The Allegheny National Forest was established in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge in order to protect the upper Allegheny River watershed.

Allegheny Defense Project’s proposal for 50,000 acres of new Wilderness and over 200 miles of new hiking, bicycle, and horse trails needs your support!

The US Forest Service is pushing to adopt a “Forest Plan” that would result in 90,000 acres of logging and 8,000 oil and gas wells over the next fifteen years.

Already host to over 3,000 miles of roads, the US Forest Service would see 2,000 miles of new roads constructed under their plan.

The Allegheny Defense Project’s Allegheny Wild! Alternative is the only thing standing between an industrial tree farm and oil & gas field.
